Your hosts Richard Higgs and Scott Aycock play an eclectic mix of Folk, Singer/songwriter, Americana, Bluegrass, Blues, Roots music, Old time country, and of course Oklahoma's own Red Dirt music, as well as anything else we happen to like from the Folk Salad garden that week. We also air frequent interviews and in-studio performances by local and nationally known performers in the above genres.

Folk Salad first aired on October 3rd, 1999, and was conceived out of Richard and Scott’s shared love of music, and especially their appreciation for the music coming out of Oklahoma. They wanted fellow music lovers to have an alternative to the generic sound that typically permeates the sound waves, and they wanted Oklahoma’s extraordinarily talented regional musical artists to have a deserved place on Oklahoma’s airwaves.
